Nothing but dark.

Your last couple of tracks (500, Hostile) have had this dark, creeping feel. This song right here is following in their footsteps. It's a nice sound to work with since it can convey so many emotions in such a small time. The drums remind me of Clubbed to Death, with the vocals and piano really backing up the beat. Like Starwolf said, the next song being horror rap, or even just a deep, dark, creeping feeling would be perfect.

Real smooth.

Honestly if the drums had a little less and were punchier this would definitely be some nice breakbeat music. The overall melody works great and the drums add to the melody well, making it calming but very dark.

I might have to make a dark track before the contest is over, I'm sure I could pull it off.

YouriX responds:

Yes its hard sometimes to pull that punch kick out. Buts its hard and nice anyways! :D
Thanks on the complements on the melody. ;)

Also i think i figure out how to make dark melodies at wil wich is pretty awesome! :D

It's way more then Dubstep...

The title itself give more feeling to the song then anything. As subtle and calming as the intro is, when the bass comes in and the actual melody hits it feels almost surreal. It may be short but there's so much to enjoy in that minute. I would love to hear a longer version of this song, with as much as you could put into it.

It seams a lot of people don't really have time for music recently.

Pendulum Inspired

I can hear exactly what you did in terms of your inspiration (:42 on), and the dubstep section sounded like a talkbox meeting haha. Besides it being a WIP and I'm sure some of the levels aren't exactly what you want, it's a heavy tune and very melodic. I bet the finished product will be even better. Keep it up.

mr-jazzman responds:

Thanks man. That is if there even will be a finished product lol. I'm thinking that I'm just gonna expand on this idea a little further in the future. My current dream is to take some of this stuff to the next level by adding vocals and guitar, such that it's more artistic than the typical dance stuff that so many people are used to...So yeah, this has kinda been my main focus in music right now, not winning the NGADM contest lol. Thanks for the support though man, 'ppreciate it!

Real nice work.

Sadly not may people participated but it still came out as nice even though it was only two people. The transfers are nice, and the modifications worked well too. I wouldn't mind doing another collab as well. =P

RealityVictim responds:

lol well look out for the next one, in the next week hopefully i'll have an idea and give more time.

Very cheerful and mellow.

Honestly when I hear this I feel like I'm playing the old versions of Lemmings back on DOS. I could see little moving creatures trying to reach once simple goal, with anything and everything stopping them from succeeding in their sometimes short-lived and complex journey to a random door. I hope to see a happy rainbow in the same situation. =)

Real nice panning there.

I do the same technique sometimes with my drums at various speeds and patterns. It can really help to get a point across. It's upbeat and dark giving it that real madness feel. Great work.

Feel free to review any of my latest songs as well if you please.

YouriX responds:

Sure thing buddy! And thanks for reviewing my work!

Real nice work.

I can agree with some of the posts and the vocals. Seams like they could of been used more interestingly, such as chopping and some subtle effects, but that's just my taste. As for the chords and ambient feel I do like it, it's a style I definitely use a lot. I think the bass could of been slightly louder, but as you're trying to get your EQ and mastering up to far it's alright. In all it's a nice worked out song.

YouriX responds:

Yes i have taught of slicing them but i wouldnt know how to implant that in the song. So hence i did not do it. :P

But i will however try that in the future ;)

Very good tension elements.

This really does fit in a nice dramatic scene in a game. Your strings are subtle but strong and the drum section definitely adds to that. As a suggestion for a long song you could give a.. say.. muted horn type lead, or some woodwind instruments to keep with the sound. All in all great project.

Szidzsi responds:

You're right, some brass could bring more emotions in it.
Thanks for the review.

Beautiful

I can feel exactly where this song is coming from. Hostility can come in many forms, but it seams this song prefers the dark and creepy side of it. This a song I would not listen to walking down the street at night that's for sure.

As for the MMO, I know exactly how that gets. I've had my fair share of MMO's to play and could use a new one. I might look into Aika and if it interests me I just might join. Keep the sick beats comin'
